How do I get started with A Clean Sweep Services, Inc.?

You may contact us by phone or submit a quote request online. Please specify whether you’d like to be contacted by phone or e-mail.  Although we would be happy to give you an estimate over the phone, it is best to schedule a Free in Home Estimate to get accurate price information.

Why should I schedule a Free in Home Estimate?

For many reasons, a Free in Home Estimate is the best choice.  It lets you put a face to the name, gives you a chance to ask important questions and point out specifics about your home or office. During your Free in Home Estimate we will do a walk through with you and we will discus each area and any specifics about your needs, pet peeves, trouble areas, etc. This will help to tailor the service to you specifications. You will be given proposed prices for weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly cleaning. You are then free to choose which will suit your needs and budget. It’s a nice visit, and it usually takes about 25 minutes. Absolutely no pressure sales and no obligation what so ever.

How do I get my home ready for cleaning service?

Any areas to be cleaned need to be picked up and tidy. Please pick up toys, laundry, and clutter from any floors and surfaces that are to be cleaned. Certainly leave your décor as it is. You don’t have to clear off all surfaces, but areas completely piled with books and papers, etc will be skipped.

Do you do dishes and laundry?

We do not clean dishes or laundry.  We specialize in detailed cleaning. 

Should I choose weekly, bi-weekly or monthly cleaning service? 

Of course you can, just give us some advanced notice if possible and we’ll schedule you in.

Are you Licensed, Bonded, and Insured?

Yes, as all reputable cleaning services should be.

Can I hire A Clean Sweep Services, Inc. to clean on a one time, occasional, or as needed basis?

You are welcome to choose any frequency. If you need help deciding, we recommend weekly if you have if more than three people in your home or if you have multiple pets. If you have only two people in a home without pets, bi-weekly is usually appropriate. If you have only one person in the home, or a couple without pets monthly may be a good  choice for you. About 75 percent or our clients choose bi-weekly service.

What are the License, Bond, and Insurance for? Why are they so important?

License:  Doing business in the State of Washington requires a License. When a company gets a license, they are registered to legally conduct business and registered with the IRS. This means that a company must be tax responsible and on the level.
Bond:  Our Bond is purchased from an insurance company and is for your protection. In the unlikely event that a dishonest act were committed against you by a staff member and that person was convicted of a crime, you would be reimbursed through the bond company for your loss. A bond is not legally required of us, and it is an expense to A Clean Sweep Services, Inc. but it is well worth the expense to give our clients security.
Insurance is not legally required, but it also is well worth the extra expense. If something of monetary value is damaged in your home, or office, our insurance will cover it

Do you have references and proof of your credentials?

Yes, when you have a Free in Home Estimate, all of this information will be available to you, or we can fax or e-mail it to you. We are proud of our references and credentials, so just ask, we’ll promptly give you a list of both private and commercial references, probably in your area, maybe in your neighborhood!

How long have you been in business?

We have been in business since September of 1999. We are also proud of our 20 combined years of cleaning experience! 

If I sign up for your services on a regular basis, do I have to sign a contract?

No, you do not have to sign a contract or promise to use our services for any length of time. If we fail to keep you happy, you may cancel at any time. We consider all of our regular clients permanent and strive to keep them happy over the long term.

What types of payment do you accept and when do I pay?

We gladly accept checks, Visa, MasterCard and have an automatic payment option.  Payment for all residential cleaning service is expected on the day of service. Our regular clients usually leave us a check on the kitchen countertop or table on the day of service. Some of our clients prefer to pre-pay per month.  For our commercial clients, we bill at the end of each month.

Do I have to give A Clean Sweep Service, Inc. a key to my house?

No, that is not required, as long as we have a reliable way of getting in, for example, someone there to let us in, a keypad code on a garage, etc. It is your decision as long as it’s safe and reliable. About 50 percent of our clients give us keys and we have a strict lock box system for their storage. We never put a name or address on a key, and all keys stay in the box until your cleaning day. Please note, if our crew arrives at the scheduled time and is not able to clean because they are locked out without a key, you will be charged a lock out fee of $25.00

Will the price be the same each visit?

You will be charged a flat rate for general cleaning on a regular basis.  If you need extra work done or other types of services that we provide, the price will depend on the service.

<Do I have to buy my own cleaning supplies or does A Clean Sweep Services, Inc. bring their own?

We provide everything needed to clean your home or office at no extra charge. This means you don’t have to worry about vacuum cleaner bags, cleaning products, etc. which will help you save money! If you have a specific cleaning product that you prefer we use, we will be glad to. Some of our clients prefer that we use their central vacuum systems, which is also fine.

How are your staff members compensated?

The staff members at A Clean Sweep Services, Inc. are all hourly payroll employees. They are paid a fair wage, and compensated for the use of their vehicles. Workers Comp, and Unemployment Insurance are provided for them. We do not us sub-contractors, or commission based workers. Did you know that the use of sub contractors might leave you liable for payroll taxes and Workers Comp?

What if I have a complaint?

We need to hear from you as soon as possible. If you have a complaint, we want to know. Please contact us by phone within 24 hours of the service so that we may fix the problem. Your not going to get anyone in trouble and cleaning mistakes are usually easily corrected. It’s all about service, and we guarantee to make every effort to keep you satisfied with ours!

What if I have Pets in my house?

We love pets and the business owner herself has many, but...

Dogs: We ask that you please secure your dog in a room or area while we are working. If the dog is friendly, we don’t mind letting the dog in/out for you when we are finished. We will not walk dogs, or clean up doggy doo.

Cats: You may leave your cats in the house while the staff is cleaning. We do our best to keep indoor cats from going out. We do not clean litter boxes.

Will the same staff members come each time, or will it be different people?

We feel it is best for you and us to send the same people each time. Our clients usually prefer it, and the results of the work are better when the staff is familiar with your home.  We make sure you at least get the same team leader each time and the same helper if possable.

How many people will come to do the work?

Our staff works in teams of two. If they have an especially heavy work schedule, they may occasionally bring one extra person.

Do you perform a background check on your staff members?

Yes, not only do we perform a thorough background check, but we go a step further and perform a drug screen as well.

Is there a large turnover of employees at A Clean Sweep Services, Inc.?

Most of our staff and all our team leaders have been with us 2 and 3 years each.  There is of course some turnover in our lower seniority group which we try to keep to a minimum.  We have a slower turnover rate than most because of our family atmosphere at A Clean Sweep.

What if my cleaning day falls on a holiday?

We do not work on most major holidays. You will be contacted to reschedule if your cleaning day is on a holiday that we are not working.

Do I need to stay home for the cleaning appointment or is it better if I leave?

You are welcome to come and go as you please. Many new clients prefer to be there for the first cleaning, and then after that they usually are not home. It is easiest and most efficient to clean when no one is home. We only ask that if you do stay home that you allow us to clean the rooms in the order of our routine.

What if I have feedback or suggestions?

By all means, give us a call or send e-mail, whichever is most convenient. We need your feedback to know how we are doing. We value any suggestions that will help us better serve you.

What if something gets broken or damaged by A Clean Sweep’s Staff?

Though it is unusual, accidents do happen and we take responsibility when it is due. For an inexpensive item, we credit the value of that item toward the next cleaning and assist if we can in finding a replacement for a damaged item. We also carry an insurance policy in case something of higher value is damaged.
